Humbled.

I cried today, (I can't stop)
Not out of happiness.
Not out of sadness.
But out of gratitude.

Grateful that my sister is safe.
Grateful that my reckless decision to drive on that slab didn’t cost us our lives.
Grateful that God was right there with us, lifting me from under the scooter.

I knew the moment we fell—it was a minor accident.
But I couldn’t bear the thought that my actions put my sister’s life at risk.

Thank you, dear Universe, for protecting her.
Thank you for not letting the guilt consume me.

And to that one kind man who appeared like an angel—
Thank you for your comforting words:
"This happens. Just be careful next time."
You made the moment less traumatic.

I didn’t cry because I was scared.
I cried because I saw what could have happened.
A wake-up call to my distracted, everyday mind.

Please, please—be careful when you drive.
Life can change in a second.
And get a helmet.
