The vitality of judgement - Era of AI

Human beings, the only species that survived centuries due to our sheer ability to forecast and judge. Humans are known for their talent of adapting, first to form community, then to start cultivating our own food, then to the great industrial revolution, the entire world shifted with our innovation.

Knowledge became the beacon to survive, contrasting the traditional norms of physical agility and efficiency. Specialized training systems evolved, economy evolved, profit based systems developed. 

We are known for shifting our entire lifestyle along with the course of world. Likewise here we are in a new era of agentic AI, the change that made us realise that the structure we thought would be permanent is not existing anymore. Everything that a specialist got trained for is now done by an AI agent within seconds. Writing codes, creating lesson plans, developing policies, analysing data, evrything done efficiently by something that is not human. Strange but very familiar.

And we see everyone rambling about AI taking our jobs, should we take it in that sense? Or maybe see it as an opportunity to get our lives easier. When an AI agent does the hardcore jobs, the human role is back to analysis and judgement. To give the right prompt, to ask the right questions, to understand the mistakes made by a very suspiciously convincing agent.

We developed fire, wheels, irrigation systems, industries, production units, super computers, microprocessors, semi conductors, all of it because of our ability to judge and analyse. And that is the shift we see from the previous knowledge economy to the current agentic economy. Human role is in controlling the Agentic output. To streamline the data to the right direction. To analyse the information - the good and the bad, profit and loss.

Now where is the irony? 

It's not in the agent but it's within us humans.

Us as a species are not moving towards it together. There's always a gap.

The rich- poor gap, traditional - modern gap, urban rural gap, elitist - common gap.

One group of us understands seeks and rushes forward while a majority are streamlined and there's a minority just like me struggling to keep up with the later, trying to master the art of judgement, or perhaps the science of judgement.

Anything is mortal, even tech. Just like how telephones died, one day AI will too, but we'll be too busy to notice. We'll be busy worrying, getting sceptical, getting judgemental. And that's for good.
