A diamond will shine.
Yessss
I'm talking of the cliched
"A diamond shines wherever"
But in a quasi pessimistic approach.
A girl is the diamond.
She's kept inside the four wall nest
Hoping to luster bright enough
To make the patriarchs smile.
A woman is the diamond,
She wants to be a singer
But her inherent skill to shine
Makes it look like she can do anything.
The husband said,
Feeding and looking after "our" kids
Is her ultimate goal
But they suddenly became all "hers"
When they made a mistake.
When the nest fell apart,
It was the diamond that was blamed.
Her sharp edges cut through
The brittle straws they said.
"The diamond lost her sparkle it seems"
Said the ones that covered her in sordidity.
But still she shines through,
Learning, no re-learning
To shine for herself.
The diamond picked up singing
Right where she left it
She didn't become a sensational pop star
But she became the best singer
To "hers"
