Agency for the female of the species.

Do we really have to hurt someone's feelings to be funny? In most of the cases "the weaker sex" is fallen prey to the "playful" teasing.

Are women driving reckless, unsteady and more prone to danger? Why do people often feel uneasy when a woman is behind the wheels?

Is a birthday wish more valuable than providing great care during adversities?

Why are the efforts of the woman in the house often overlooked as her "responsibility" meanwhile the bare minimum from a man is held on a pedestal?

Is it necessary that a woman is physically smaller than the male (in relationships)? Why are women that are bigger than the men always ridiculed for their size difference?

Ponder on these questions and tell me if we are actually over patriarchy.

My views:

The historical exclusion of women from activities like driving could be a reason for the misconception that women can't drive. In fact if we look into statistics, it's the men especially the younger ones that are more prone to accident, but the female folks does not make pun out of it.

The misogynistic elders in our homes also contribute into the outpouring of double standards for women, we all know that it's too late to rectify them but it's important that we, today's generation do not mould ourselves through their perspectives on gender roles.

The idea of specifying a man's job or woman's job is obsolete in this age, where the man as well as the woman provides for the household, makes the bed, hits the gym, cooks and does laundry. In this age, we are developed enough to see the masculine and feminine parts of individuals rather than attributing specific characteristics for the genders.

The insane physical standards that we have kept for women is an important issue to address today, lot of us including myself are mentally affected by these high standards- to be mere measurements on a scale rather than thoughtful and insightful individuals in today's society.
