YOU IN?
Yesterday was one of the most demanding days I’ve faced in a while. I set out to create a reel that felt genuinely me—authentic, unfiltered—but I found myself completely stuck. Speaking in front of the camera felt like an impossible task, and to top it off, my phone kept overheating. I despise the heat; something about scorching evenings always feels charged with unrest, as if the world’s worst decisions are made under a sweltering sun.
Still, quitting wasn’t an option. I’ve just embarked on this journey, and I see countless others—within my circle and beyond—flourishing in the world of content creation. So why not me? I know I have a creative instinct. It took me the rest of the evening to craft the montage I eventually posted, and the response? Overwhelming. Friends I hadn’t spoken to in years showed up in the comments with words of encouragement. It moved me deeply—and made me wish I had nurtured those connections better over time.
I’m especially grateful for Holy Child Central School ICSE—a chapter of my life that unknowingly sowed the seeds of the person I am today.
Yesterday’s takeaway: How to craft a video montage.
Today’s gift: The gentle reminder that I’m not alone in this.
